Home Cinema Choice magazine "suggests tech hipsters take a closer look" at the Marantz NR1603 (February 2013).

Steve May has written an in-depth review of the Marantz NR1603 in the latest issue of Home Cinema Choice magazine. This slimline receiver is praised for its "tight, dynamic sound quality and versatile media streaming."

According to this review "The audio is clean, deep and exciting; in home theatre mode, the NR1603 has undeniable heart. Avengers Assemble is packed with popcorn highs and not even a full-blown alien invasion is enough to make the Marantz falter. The AVR is equally at home with less wrought theatrics." In addition "the receiver displays simian agility with stereo sources, too; a welcome consequence of discrete circuit configuration."
