HDAM
HDAM stands for Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module, an ultra High-speed voltage amplification module that utilizes proprietary technology developed by Marantz. The first use of HDAM technology was witnessed in 1992 with the release of the PM99SE integrated amplifier, a special edition released of the PM-90 originally released in 1991.

Conventional voltage amplifier designs are characterized by the usage of discrete components and have the disadvantage of digital noise, including clock noise. Solutions to prevent this, take up space and increases the amount of wiring on the circuit board. Additional wiring can pickup external noise and may be affected by heat and vibrations. The use of so-called op-amps is advantageous in these type of situations, but has restrictions and solutions often are known to compromise the overall performance.
 
HDAM is a compact amplifier module that utilizes surface-mount and multi-layer circuitry design technology. It is a very compact and shielded module with the size of a stamp, capable of performing at a slew rate of 70 to 80 V/microsecond with a raw gain performance of typical op-amps. HDAM allows Marantz designers the freedom to utilize amplifiers in a variety of ways in the signal chain, such as phono equalizer that requires 36 dB of gain, or as a buffer amplifier that operates at 0 dB unity gain. The current HDAM lineup is quite varied, some have metal-shielded covers, some use copper. There are even variations that allow to offset adjustment and other customization. HDAM is a very important customized component in the total design of Marantz products which represents the ability of Marantz to reproduce music with the emotion and precision as originally intended. The most advanced HDAM modules developed are used in the SC-7, MA-9 amplifiers. The HDAM-SA in these amplifiers is an ultra high-speed buffer amplifier that can operate at 0 dB unity gain with a unparalleled slew rate of 200 V/micro-second.
